Washing your towels

• Wash in cold or lukewarm water (below 40°C) to protect colour and fibre strength
• Use a mild detergent — avoid excessive bleach, which breaks down cotton fibres over time
• Skip fabric softener on towels; it coats the fibres and actually reduces absorbency
• Wash new dark or bright colours separately for the first 2–3 washes

Drying

• Tumble dry on low, or line dry in shade to avoid colour fading from direct sun
• Shake towels out before drying to keep the pile fluffy
• Avoid over-drying — it makes cotton fibres brittle over time

Caring for microfiber bedsheets

• Machine wash cold, gentle cycle
• Avoid high heat when drying — microfiber is sensitive to heat and can lose its wrinkle-free finish
• Do not iron directly on microfiber; use low heat with a cloth barrier if needed

Caring for velvet AC comforters

• Spot clean where possible; if machine washing, use a gentle cycle and cold water
• Air dry flat or on a large rack — avoid wringing, which crushes the velvet pile
• Store folded, not compressed, to keep the pile from flattening permanently

Following these steps is the single biggest factor in whether your towels and bedding stay soft for years or start feeling rough after a few months.
